Install and Download the Adobe Flash Player plug-in on Firefox for Windows

Flash Player is a free browser plug-in that is used across the BBC website for playing videos, animations and games. Find out here how to install the Flash Player plug-in on Firefox for Windows.
Not your web browser? Go back to the Flash Player plug-in page to select your browser.

Clicking the 'Download' link at the end of this guide automatically takes you to the Flash download page.

1. Install Adobe Flash Player

The first page asks if you would like to install Flash. It also asks if you would like to install McAfee's Security Scan with Flash. If you do not want this, make sure the 'Free McAfee Security Scan Plus' check box is empty.
Click 'Agree and install now' to continue.

2. Thank you

A window appears telling you your download should start automatically.
If it does not, click on 'Click here' for troubleshooting information.

3. User Account Control

You may see a User Account Control dialog pop-up box, stating that Windows needs permission to continue.
Click 'Continue'.

4. The program downloads

You should now see the program downloading to your computer. This may take a few minutes.

5. License Agreement

A license agreement box will appear.
Click the 'I have read and agree to the terms of the license agreement' tick box.
Click 'Install'.

6. Close applications

You may be asked to close some applications. Close the applications and the installer will automatically continue.

7. Install

Flash will now finish installing.
When finished, click 'Done'.

8. Installation complete

Installation is complete. Click 'Close Download Manager' to finish.
